Getting started

How quickly is my hosting set up?
Shared hosting is set up as soon as your first invoice is paid, usually within a few minutes. Bank transfers are matched by hand during office hours. VPS and dedicated servers are built by our team and normally take a few hours to 2 working days, depending on the location.
Can you move my website from another host for free?
Yes. Open a ticket after ordering with your old host's cPanel login (or a full backup) and we will move your files, databases and emails. Most moves are done within 24 hours with no downtime.
Which nameservers do I use?
Your welcome email and the service page in your client area show the exact nameservers for your server. Set them at your domain registrar. If your domain is registered with us, we set them for you.
Do you offer a free SSL certificate?
Yes. Every website on shared and reseller hosting gets a free SSL certificate that is installed and renewed automatically. It usually appears within an hour of your domain pointing to us.

Billing

Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer, JazzCash, EasyPaisa, PayPal and card payments. The options available show on each invoice. Always include the invoice number when paying by bank so we can match it quickly.
Do services renew automatically?
We send a renewal invoice before the due date and remind you by email. Nothing is charged to your card without you paying the invoice. If you do not want to renew, request cancellation from your client area.
Can I pay for more than one year?
Yes. Most hosting plans can be billed monthly, quarterly, every six months, yearly or for two to three years. Longer periods cost less per month. Ask us to change your billing cycle any time.
What is account credit?
Credit is money held in your account that we use to pay your invoices. You can add funds from Billing > Account credit. Refunds and service-level credits are also added here.
Do you have a money-back guarantee?
Yes, 30 days on new shared and reseller hosting. Domains, SSL, licences and delivered servers are not refundable. See our Refund Policy for the details.

Domains

How do I transfer my domain to you?
Unlock the domain at your current registrar, get the transfer (EPP) code, then order a domain transfer in our store and enter the code. The transfer adds a year to your registration in most cases.
Why does a .pk domain renew for two years?
PKNIC registers and renews .pk domains in two-year blocks, so the renewal invoice covers two years.
My domain expired. Can I still get it back?
Usually yes. Most domains have a grace period after expiry where you can renew at the normal price. After that there is a redemption period with an extra restore fee. Contact us as soon as you notice.

Email

How do I set up my email on my phone?
Use IMAP with the server name shown in your welcome email, port 993 (SSL) for incoming and port 465 (SSL) for outgoing, and your full email address as the username. Our knowledgebase has step-by-step guides for iPhone, Android and Outlook.
Why are my emails going to spam?
Most often the domain is missing SPF, DKIM or DMARC records, or the sending account was hacked. Open a ticket and we will check your DNS and mail logs for you.

Servers

Do I get root access on a VPS?
Yes. Unmanaged VPS and dedicated servers come with full root access. Managed plans come with our team looking after updates, security and the control panel for you.
Can I upgrade my plan later?
Yes. Open your service in the client area and use "Upgrade or change plan". We reply with the price difference for the rest of your billing period before changing anything.

Support

How do I contact support?
Open a ticket from the client area, email us, use the chat on this website or message us on WhatsApp. Tickets give you a record of everything and are the fastest way for technical problems.
Do you take backups of my website?
We take regular server backups to protect against hardware failure, and can restore from them on request. You should still keep your own copy of anything important, for example with the backup tool in cPanel.
